![]() You're literally trying to prove us that hot water does not existĪnd once again, im forced to remind you that those street illusions only work through a camera. Read last post and go back to year 7 science There's literally old tunnels built and painted to produce 3d effects and street artists making 3d looking art with simple equipment and some math. Have i just walked in a discussion full of people who have never heard of maths and basic biology? Human depth perception has diminishing returns at faraway distances so every depth-based optical illusion that is designed to be seen live in person is usually large and very far away. ![]() Alternatively, you could just stand really far away. Sure this might confuse you if you saw it out of the corner of your eye, but once you actually look and your binocular depth perception tells you whats really happening, you wont be able to unsee it. Cameras only have 1 point of view instead of 2 like humans. This displays the sort of depth offset you see in superliminal. Threre exists and impossible triangle sculpture: (). Its rendering the game twice.ģd illusions work in real life. Thats why VR often requires more computing power. VR takes advantage of this, by rendering 2 cameras slightly offset from each other, and displaying a different camera for each eye. The reason this works is because your eyes are slightly offset from one another. You can still do it cause you can use your eyes focal range and other context clues, but at large distances, its almost impossible. Its way harder cause you cant use your depth perception to judge its distance. Have you ever tried playing catch with one eye closed. The reason we can perceive depth is because we have 2 eyes. We get optical illusions in real life, both up close and far away, so if VR has the ability to simulate not only real life, but also in game code, why couldn't we get fooled by optical illusions? or in other words back up your claim VR works with and tricks our brains in ways we do not yet understand fully, but it does seem to give the illusion we step into an entirely different reality. We have two eyeballs yet we our brains make an assumption that we probably only want one field of vision. Example: the way light travels in to the lenses of our eyes the image is actually upside down, our brain makes the adjustment to flip it and create right side up. ![]() Example: we have blind spots and yet our brains fill it in to create an assumption of pattern. as depth perception is key to illusions, our brains and eyes do not work the way you describe. eg, remove most of or all of your depth perception. ![]() Yeah and they only work when they're either really far away or you close one eye.
